2022 Smucker’s Birdies & Charity

The 2022 Smucker’s Birdies & Charity event will take place on September 26th at the Country Club of Hudson. PGA professionals and Associates from around Northern Ohio will play 72 holes of golf to raise money for charity.

In 2021, thirty-nine professionals raised over $120,000 for Northern Ohio charities, making 417 birdies at Oberlin Golf Club. This year, the Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation will be supporting the Ohio Girls Golf Foundation, The Turn, Cleveland Clinic Challenge Golf, Clearview HOPE, and the Ben Curtis Family Foundation. In addition, funds raised will contribute to the Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation programming which includes providing financial aid to junior tour members, scholarships to high school seniors, sets of golf clubs to juniors with financial need, and getting veterans started in the game of golf.

About the Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation

The Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation is a 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations are tax deductible.

The Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation was created for the purpose of administering the charitable and philanthropic affairs on behalf of the golf professionals within the Northern Ohio PGA Section. These affairs include, but are not limited to, development, promotion and growth of adult and junior golf programs, scholarship programs for children, programs for minority and underprivileged youth in Northern Ohio, and contributions to allied charitable organizations.

The Section Foundation has started a Clubs Fore Kids program where it provides sets of golf clubs to children financially in need who would like to pick up the game. In addition, the Foundation provides financial aid to junior tour members and has provided over $40,000 in scholarships to high school seniors looking to continue their higher education in the past two years.
